As long as I can remember, I’ve been a compulsive doodler. Margins were embellished and reworked to Baroque detail. Bare spaces were filled with scrawls, as my math notebooks (and poor geometry grades) will attest. If given a blank page, I could focus long enough to make sure that the page wouldn’t suffer from lack of attention.
I still like pictures but I find myself moving away from doodling in visual form towards being more interested in words, ideas and random dialogue. These days, I find other peoples’ thought processes fascinating in part because they are so very unlike my own. If given the opportunity, I might like to squat in someone else’s head for a bit and poke around to see the process in action. Since squatting is generally frowned upon in good society, this isn’t an option, so I have to rely on other means to that end.
This is the result of asking questions, getting answers, taking them apart and seeing how they work. It is my collection of answers to the questions I’ve been asking people as part of a current obsession, the Questions Project. I plan to continue this as long as I feel inspired to ask questions of those who are amused enough to answer.
